Notes: We accept online applications only o This process is designed for the recruitment of applicants wishing to undergo the student technician programme and with a view to progression to the role of Qualified Pharmacy Technician. On that basis, applicants who have already completed the BTEC level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice of Pharmacy Technicians (or recognised equivalent qualifications) will not be shortlisted. Instead, there are current and regular opportunities to apply for qualified pharmacy technicians within BHSCT, and candidates are invited to apply directly to qualified roles through those opportunities. o Student Pharmacy technicians will undertake the BTEC level 3 Diploma in “Principles and Practise of Pharmacy Technicians” and subject to successful completion within 2 academic years, will automatically transition to Pharmacy Technicians at B4 payscale and to the current Pharmacy Technician job description + contract. o Those recruited as Student pharmacy technicians will be recruited as B4 but pay will be according to the following principles: ? Those currently employed in B2 or B3 roles within the NHS will be paid based on years’ experience in the NHS / HSC at an equivalent Band.** ? Those not currently employed in B2 or B3 roles within the NHS will be paid as per Annex 21 of the NHS AFC handbook for trainee roles at B4 level – ie 70% of top of B4 scale for year 1 of the student technician course, and 75% of the top of the B4 scale for year 2 of the student technician course** Please remember to save or print a copy of the job description before submitting your application, as it will not be accessible afterwards.
