Notes: The opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine in Antrim Area Hospital. The appointee will be joining a very dynamic and enthusiastic team who are at the forefront of innovation in Respiratory Medicine. This post is intended to strengthen the role of Respiratory Medicine. The aim of the Respiratory consultant is to facilitate senior specialist input at an early stage in the patient’s hospital admission leading to reduced length of stay with improved outcomes and patient satisfaction. The development of a subspecialty interests would be welcomed. The appointee will work alongside the nine existing Respiratory Physicians to provide cover for all acute respiratory admissions to the Antrim Hospital site. The respiratory team have developed respiratory pathways integrating community and secondary care for chronic respiratory conditions. A waiting list may be compiled for any similar posts which may arise at Antrim Hospital during the next 6 months.
