Notes: Health and Social Care (HSC) is now recruiting for the role of Physician Associate (PA) New Graduate Year (NGY) to work in hospitals across Northern Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to provide new ways of working for the benefit of our patients. If you have recently qualified and will be eligible to practice as a Physician Associate by March 2024, we would love to hear from you and would welcome your application. You will have the opportunity to join the HSC as a group of newly recruited Physician Associates, working and learning together, with supervision from expert clinicians. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will undertake physical assessment and history taking of patients and provide immediate care and/ or initiate treatment as appropriate based on clinical need and within agreed protocols where applicable. You will have access to bespoke job plans, educational and developmental plans and will undergo an induction programme to help adapt knowledge and skills with minimum 50 hours of CPD. Following successful assessments and completion of the NGY at Band 6, you will have the opportunity to move to a permanent Band 7 PA post within the HSCNI. Please note this may not always be the same specialty that you were placed for you NGY and may be subject to change due to service needs. There are currently 3 vacancies within BHSCT. A waiting list will be established should any further Permanent / Temporary posts become available regionally within the next 12 months.
