encompass is a HSC-wide initiative that will, by using the latest technology, introduce a digital integrated care record to Northern Ireland. encompass will be offering one pharmacist from each Health and Social Care Trust a secondment opportunity (22 months) to help and work collaboratively with IT and clinical teams to design, develop, build, test and implement the Pharmacy stock management and EPMA systems.

encompass is a Health & Social Care NI (HSC NI) wide transformation programme which seeks to best position HSC NI to capitalise on digitally enabled whole system approach to the delivery of safer, informed care. encompass is a directorate within Business Services Organisation, created to help HSC NI work more effectively and efficiently through regional standardisation and best practice and will create better experiences for those receiving, using and delivering services.
The encompass Pharmacist Analyst will be uniquely placed to support the development of the pharmacy and medicines management applications within the Epic system (Willow Inpatient, Willow Inventory and Willow Ambulatory), across the region and work collaboratively with IT and clinical teams to design, develop, build, test and implement the Pharmacy stock management and EPMA systems, whilst taking into account the considerable risks to patient safety and finances associated with medicines. The encompass Pharmacist Analyst will support the complex service change using their experience of current clinical practice on wards and dispensary operations to guide the Willow build team to create a safe and effective system.
The Pharmacist Analyst will be trained by Epic (supplier) to participate in workflow design and system build for encompass. The post holder will, along with (Senior) Workflow Analysts, Subject Matter Experts from HSC Trusts and encompass colleagues, map current working practices and design new ‘best practice’ ways of working.
The Pharmacist Analyst will then be responsible for developing and configuring the Willow module as part of a dedicated team and ensure its timely delivery as part of the encompass Programme (in conjunction with Epic). They will be responsible for working on integrated areas of the configuration build within Willow whilst achieving multiple configuration build deadlines and targets.
