Alice McKeown (Project Management Office Manager)

Hi, my name is Alice and I have been working in encompass since June 2019. I commenced my HSC NI career as a Graduate Intern, I then took up post in HSCB Corporate Services supporting Complaints/Governance/Information Governance and Emergency Planning team. This role then give me the opportunity to work within IT supporting NIECR under Project Support.

Working within the NIECR Project gave me a broad understanding of the vast quantity of ICT systems the HSCNI uses on a daily basis. I became aware of the advantages and disadvantages that multiple systems presented to frontline and clerical staff, which impacts on their daily tasks. When I learned about encompass I became excited for the opportunity to work on a programme which will revolutionise and streamline the way we use ICT within HSCNI, while also improving patient safety.

In the 4 months I have worked within encompass I have been involved in setting up the Programme Management Office; developing and implementing strategies and processes to support the programme plan. I have supported the setting up of numerous staff engagement events, this has given me the opportunity to interact with frontline staff and understand their daily frustrations with systems and processes that do not talk to each other. Working within the encompass team has already provided new opportunities for me to continue to developing my career. I am currently working with a Senior Project Manager in reviewing the current clinical networks across the region to identify HSC staff who will be suitable to work alongside encompass as Subject Matter Experts to provide us with the necessary pathway information, which is required to build and configure the system to meet and exceed the needs of HSCNI.

Laura Molloy (encompass Senior Project Manager)

Hi my name is Laura and I am a Senior Project Manager within encompass. I started my career on the HSC Graduate management training scheme and have worked across the HSC in a number of roles, most recently commissioning and service improvement.

As part of my roles I was lucky enough to be involved in service redesign and improvement and I became fascinated how the NIECR was able to underpin new ways of working. When I heard about encompass I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to be involved in transformation from the beginning and I was right, I haven’t looked back.

Not having a technical background has had no disadvantage to me in my role, encompass, as a transformation Programme, requires a variety of skillsets. I am able to use my skills to work on many exciting projects and workstreams. I am currently working on both the people and workforce workstream and digital care executive. I am excited for the challenges that lie ahead and I know I can achieve my goals with the support of my colleagues and peers.

Martin Doyle (encompass Senior Project Manager)

Hi my name is Martin and I am a senior Project Manager within encompass. I started my HSC NI career in a temporary Band 3 role within the Community Information team in the Southern area in 2002. I have worked across HSC NI in a number of different Organisations and roles including performance management, service improvement and information. As part of my previous roles I have gained an insight into the importance of high quality data to support the provision of information so that key decisions can be made by the right people at the right time across the HSC NI.

As a non-clinical person, and a patient, I was drawn to encompass as it is an opportunity to be involved, from the outset, in the evolution of Health & Social Care within Northern Ireland to the betterment of everyone. A key aspect of encompass, for me, is that central to its success I will have a significant input into its development and share in the benefits. I am able to bring my knowledge and experience to encompass and am currently working on the Information and Data Analytics workstream and am genuinely excited to see the improvement in data that will support better, safer and more standardised care.
