The Estate Services Department has an increasing role in the contribution to a safe, clean and fit for purpose environment, which includes the buildings and the equipment used within them.

The Estate Services Department makes an increasing positive contribution to the patient journey and impacts on key areas on which Trusts are measured in terms of performance and customer satisfaction.

Careers within Estates are involved in the maintenance and development of the built environment and staff working within Estates offer specialist technical advice on matters in connection with electrical, plumbing, joinery, construction, engineering, ground maintenance etc. and work in these areas employ both professional and direct labour staff.

Areas also covered by Estates include risk, governance, fire safety, quality, energy and waste management.
