Notes: This is a full time post with 10 programmed activities to join the existing consultants and other non consultant grade doctors within the Diabetes and Endocrinology service in the NHSCT. The appointee, together with consultant colleagues, will be responsible for the provision of a diabetes/endocrinology care and general medicine for inpatients on the Antrim Area site and outpatients on various sites within the Trust. The postholder will assist with initiatives to implement important aspects of the Northern Ireland Diabetes Strategy Framework at Antrim Hospital (within NHSCT) and Diabetes Network work streams. The Diabetes and Endocrine service at Antrim Hospital is very active within the Northern Ireland Diabetes Clinical Research Network (NICRN). It is hoped that the post holder will have the opportunity to participate in diabetes NICRN activity at Antrim Hospital and will be encouraged and supported to further develop their diabetes research interests A Trust wide waiting list may be compiled for similar permanent/temporary, full/part time posts which may arise within the next 12 months.
