Notes: Liaison psychiatry is an extremely important area of service delivery within modern Health care. Liaison psychiatrists specialise in the management of psychiatric problems in the general medical setting. They have expertise in working at the interface between physical and mental illness, including psychological reactions to physical illness, medically unexplained symptoms and the management of self-harm in the general hospital. The NHSCT operates an Enhanced 24 liaison psychiatry service. Whilst this is an already established team ongoing service development and reform is expected. If you are a dynamic and progressive doctor, with a passion for service delivery and development, and a skill for building relationships and delivering training, then this may be the post for you. A Trust-wide waiting list may be created for similar permanent/temporary, full/part time posts that may arise within the next 12 months.
