Notes: The opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Consultant Physician/Geriatrician in Medicine in Antrim Area Hospital. The appointee will be joining a very dynamic and enthusiastic team who are at the forefront of innovation in Elderly Medicine. This post is intended to strengthen the role of Care of the Elderly Medicine. The appointee will be expected to assist colleagues in providing early comprehensive geriatric assessment and rehabilitation to such patients in addition to 24 hour stroke thrombolysis and TIA service, Geriatrician led Parkinson’s service, Memory service, Acute Frailty Service and contribute to delivering Care of the Elderly ambulatory pathways. A waiting list will be compiled for any Consultant Physician/Geriatrician posts that become available within the next 6 months.
